Wind induced external pressures on a tall building with various corner configurations
AbstractWind tunnel pressure measurements were conducted at height on a 1:300 scale model of a tall building with various corner configurations based on the CAARC standard tall building. The aim was to investigate the effect of the different corner configurations on the magnitude and distribution of the peak pressure coefficients. The shapes included square, bevelled, rounded and recessed corners. The location and magnitude of the measured peak pressure coefficients, and the wind direction for which they occurred varied considerably for the different corner configurations.
