Alkylation of isobutane with n-butenes on a zeolite catalyst
Abstract 1. An adequate mathematical description was obtained of the relations between alkylate yield, the degree of butylene conversion, ratio of saturated hydrocarbons to unsaturated hydrocarbons, the content in the alkylate of C8 hydrocarbon fraction and temperature, space velocity and dilution of olefins with isobutane in raw material by mathematical planning of the experiment. 2. Using this mathematical description of the process optimum parameters were derived: temp. 90–110°, space velocity 1·0–1·2 hr−1, isobutane : butylene ratio in the raw material 12·5–13. Under these conditions the degree of conversion of butylenes is 65–70%, the ratio of saturated hydrocarbons to unsaturated hydrocarbons contained in the alkylate being 15–18.
