The elastic moduli of mortar as a porous-granular material
AbstractThe effects of sand concentration and porosity on the elastic properties of mortar and cement paste were studied. Acoustic wave measurements were performed on mortar specimens with 0 to 60 percent sand concentration, and on cement paste specimens with 28 to 53 percent porosity. The experimental results were compared with the predictions of various theories available for multi-phase materials, with the Kuster-Toksöz model giving the best fit.
