Conversion of observed macroseismic fields up to higher intensity level by generalized circular isoseismals
Abstract The macroseismic fields of the earthquakes which have occurred in Central and partly Southern Europe are analyzed under the following two aspects: (1) determination of a generalized circular isoseismal field and its dependence on the epicentral intensity, and (2) application of the obtained results to higher epicentral intensities. Results of the statistical analysis of the observed macroseismic fields and an example of the conversion of the observed field into an expected field are presented.
