Wind loads on wind permeable facades
AbstractThis paper presents results of a fundamental, experimental study on wind loading of porous facade systems. The important parameters — relative building dimensions, porosity, and gap width — have been varied systematically in a model scale study. Both time averaged and fluctuating pressures have been measured. Therefore, wind loads using the quasi-static approach and the peak pressure approach may be derived. The validity of the model scale investigation has been checked by full scale experiments.
