Joint distributions of wave height with surf parameter and breaker index for individual waves
Abstract This paper provides a joint distribution of wave height and surf parameter, as well as a joint distribution of wave height and breaker index; both joint distributions are for individual waves within a sea state. This is relevant for characterizing surf zone processes and can be used to make assessments of e.g. wave run-up on beaches and coastal structures, as well as of breaking waves on slopes. An example of results corresponding to typical field conditions is also provided.
