Effect of heterocyclic organic compounds upon hydrogenation of toluene in the presence of catalyst based on hydrides of intermetallic compounds
Summary In hydrogenation of toluene at 470°K and with P H 2 of 0·6 MPa on catalysts based on hydrides of intermetallic compounds ZrNiH2·8, ZrCoH2·8 and HfNiH2·8, compounds containing sulphur have the highest deactivating effect, compared with oxygen- (dioxane, cyclohexanone) and nitrogen-containing (pyridine, aniline) compounds. Efficient metal removal from heavy petroleum residues is due to the high activity and stability of hydride catalysts in hydrodenitrogenation of nitrogen-containing compounds.
