A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
AbstractThis paper demonstrates the application of the Johnson–Mehl–Avrami (JMA) theory for phase transformations combined with precipitation hardening theory to the early stage ageing precipitation and hardening kinetics in several aluminium alloys. It is found that the complex sequences of metastable phase formation during ageing do not affect the overall hardening kinetics. The applicability and limitations of the current modelling approach are discussed.
