A damage constitutive model for concrete under uniaxial compression capturing strain localization
Abstract This paper presents a damage constitutive equation capturing the feature of strain localization and, on this basis, proposes a novel damage constitutive model for concrete under uniaxial compression. It is found that the proposed model can better simulate the stiffness degradation behavior of concrete under cyclic loading, well reproduce the dependency of the post-peak stress-strain curve on specimen or measuring length under monotonic loading, and provide FE simulation results that are insensitive to mesh size. Influence of the maximum aggregate size on the strain localization zone length is discussed.
