Water movement in porous building materials—XI. Capillary absorption from a hemispherical cavity
AbstractThe absorption of water from a hemispherical cavity is analysed in terms of the sharp wet front model. A series approximation to the equation describing the absorption of water from a hemispherical cavity is derived. This equation is used to obtain values of the water sorptivity of brick and mortar materials from three-dimensional absorption data.
