Video-based tunnel luminance detection
Abstract A new luminance detection method using tunnel video monitoring systems is proposed. The method can efficiently obtain the continuous surface luminance parameters of the large detection area in tunnels. Firstly, the stability and uniformity of the cameras in a tunnel video monitoring system are calibrated. Then, a new detection method can be mainly divided into the following parts: video image stability and uniformity detection, image geometric distortion correction detection, background initialization, luminance function fitting, pixels and blocks luminance extraction, luminance uniformity detection and so on. Finally, the surface luminance and total luminance parameters can be calculated in tunnels. The experimental results show that the method achieves a high accuracy in two different conditions.
