Newton-Raphson iterative method applied to circularly towed cable-body system
Abstract In this study a solution method based on Newton-Raphson iterations is developed for a broad class of oceanic cable problems under steady-state conditions. The solution method is demonstrated by application to the problem of towing of a tethered body in a circular path. Accurate results are obtained with relatively few iterations required.
