Hydraulicity of mineral admixtures in cement blends
Highlights ► Pozzolanic material has been used in cement. ► Frattini’s Test has been done under different curing periods. ► Hydration reaction has been characterized using XRD and Thermo gravimetric analysis.
Abstract In the present investigation, the hydration reaction of Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC) with mineral addition such as silica fume (SF) and Rice Husk Ash (RHA) have studied. The pozzolanic activity of silica fume and RHA and the combined effect of RHA and SF were investigated using thermal analysis, Frattini’s test, Calorimetric tests and XRD analysis. Results showed that the pozzolanic activity decreased as the percentage of mineral additions increased.
