AbstractNayoga City is located in central Japan, and forms the third metropolitan region in Japan, sandwiched between Tokyo and Osaka regions. The population of Nagoya Metropolitan Region is approximately nine million, and the city has 2.15 million. In 1945 the City of Nagoya made a radical plan for recovery and reconstruction which covered about 3500 ha of central Nagoya which had been destroyed in the war. Thanks to the efforts of the last 45 years, Nagoya is now considered the best planned of major Japanese cities. Nagoya region is now responsible for approximately 1.5% of global GNP and is an industrial and technological leader in Japan.
