Clifton prepares for the 1990s
AbstractClifton, New Jersey, USA (population 80 000) is situated in the heart of the New York Metropolitan Area, 10 miles west of Manhattan. The city initiated a Future Vision project to predict major trends during the coming decade which should have a major impact on the municipality. This environmental scanning project has helped the city to develop strategies to deal with major trends and issues during the 1990s. The methodology used is easily adaptable to other local governments.
