Dynamic response of prestressed concrete frames
AbstractBased on compatibility conditions, as well as a trilinear moment-curvature relationship, an analytical model was presented recently to predict the response of reinforced/prestressed concrete frames and continuous beams to static loads. The model was compared to the test specimens and was found to be applicable throughout the loading history. This paper shows that the inelastic response of prestressed concrete frames to dynamic loads can be predicted when the trilinear theory for the primary curve is combined with Takeda's rules for the hysteresis loops and with the linear acceleration step-by-step method for the dynamic model. The algorithm is described and a numerical example is given.
