Study of the adsorption capacity of succinimide and zinc dithiophosphate type additives
Abstract 1. When determining the adsorption capacity of succinimide and zinc dithiophosphate type additives by the method of contact potential difference it was established that the formation of adsorption layer of succinimide is complete at a concentration of 0·1% wt., which corresponds to the upper critical concentration of micelle formation of this additive. 2. With the combined use of succinimide and zinc dithiophosphate type additives competition occurs between these additives during the formation of adsorption layers. The end result (charge and thickness of the adsorption layer and electron release energy) is determined by the structure of hydrocarbon radicals of zinc dithiophosphate and by the concentration of the succinimide type additive in the mixture examined.
