ERA Technology’s Surface Penetrating Radar
Traces the development of Surface Penetrating Radar (SPR) and the reasons for its use by the police in the recent search for human remains in Gloucestershire. An explanation is given of the general electronic principles on which the SPR functions. Also outlines the applications of this equipment in surveying and the benefits of this method compared with other non-destructive, as well as destructive, testing methods. There is a summary of a research project to assess the equipment′s capabilities in surveying masonry structures, including examples of the readings obtained.
