The proportion of the office premises costs attributable to fabric repairs is, as shown in our overall analysis in the first issue of Facilities, one of the least significant — around 5% for all three building types, although as will be seen this element is worthy of further analysis. The costs prepared below assume an effective system of maintenance inspection and a high quality of initial design, materials and workmanship, with buildings having a moderate level of exposure to the weather.
