Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verkleidungselement für ein Gebäude bzw. einen Teil eines Gebäudes, insbesondere für ein Dach, wobei das Verkleidungselement (1) eine in Benutzung dem Gebäude zugewandte Auflagefläche (2) aufweist und eine in Benutzung der Umgebung des Gebäudes zugewandte Außenstruktur (8) aufweist, wobei die Außenstruktur (8) durch ein Basismaterial des Verkleidungselements (1) vorgegeben ist. Erfindungsgemäß ist vorgesehen, dass die Außenstruktur (8) eine Vielzahl an Reflexionsflächen (3) zur Reflexion von Sonnenstrahlung, insbesondere IR-Strahlung (100), aufweist, und eine Vielzahl an Absorptionsfläche (4) zur Absorption von Sonnenstrahlung, insbesondere von IR-Strahlung (100), aufweist, wobei die Reflexionsflächen (3) die Sonnenstrahlung, insbesondere die IR-Strahlung (100), stärker reflektieren als die Absorptionsflächen (4) und/oder wobei die Absorptionsflächen (4) die Sonnenstrahlung, insbesondere die IR-Strahlung (100), stärker absorbieren als die Reflexionsflächen (3).
