Title of the invention: Post driver Abstract Title: A post driver with positioning means A post driver 5 has a frame 20, 25 with attachment means 15a, 15b, 15c, which may be used to mount the driver to a tractor, a mast 10 supported by the frame and adapted to allow a weighted member (120, figure 10) to travel up and down. There are at least two independently operable hydraulically operated legs 50, 55. There are side shift means 125a, 125b, which may be pistons, to enable positioning of the mast to be optimised for alignment with a post to be driven. There may also be backshift means 80a, 80b. The mast is provided on an opposite side of the frame to the attachment means. A second invention discloses a post driver which has back shift means. The mast may be located at a centre of the post driver in a lateral direction.
