Personnel protection system 5 The invention concerns a personnel protection system in form of a refuge chamber with at least one main room and a carbon dioxide absorber for the absorption of carbon dioxide from the air inside the main room, where said carbon dioxide absorber (10) comprises a body (14) and a 10 basket (12), provided to hold loose soda lime, which can be inserted into body (14), so that possible static charges of soda lime cartridges, which have been used so far, are avoided to exclude possible hazards in potentially explosive atmospheres.
