A SLIDING WINDOW STOP A stop (22) to be fixed to the frame (11) of a sliding door or window. The stop (22) prevents movement of the sliding panel (16) so that the opening (23) does not have a width greater than a desired width. The stop member (22) includes a removable stop member (27) that can be detached from the base (24) to provide for movement of the panel (16) beyond the base (24) so that the window can be fully opened. 24- 22
