A method for constructing or repairing a roadway is disclosed that comprises providing at least one concrete pavement panel having an abrasion resistant wear surface; and installing the at least one concrete pavement panel over a levelling surface formed in, or disposed over, a ground surface such that the wear surface forms part of a roadway surface of the roadway. The method has particular application for use in roadways for mines that are subject to high wear.
