A sound attenuating barrier is formed from an outer wall of individual building panels of Autoclaved aerated 5 concrete arranged in abutting edge to edge relationship and an inner wall of individual building elements in spaced apart relationship to each other where the inner wall and outer wall are spaced apart at a first spacing distance and the individual building elements of the inner 10 wall are spaced apart from each other at a second spacing distance. The values of the first and second spacing distances are determined in accordance with the appropriate equation so that the wall structure of the inner and outer walls forms a Helmholtz resonator to 15 reduce noise by the wall structure having a resonance frequency similar to the noise but vibrating out of phase with the same amplitude as the noise to cancel or reduce the noise impinging on or being propagated by and/or through the wall structure. The advantage of the wall 20 structure is to reduce the nuisance caused by noisy installations close to or within residential neighbourhoods. 5281525_1 (GHMatters) P92695.AU.1 54 ,--54 25--- 52 32 -5
