The invention concerns a device for handling traffic cones (12) that may equip a vehicle, the device comprising: - a frame (1), - a means (11) for transferring the cones (12) from a provisioning unit (10) to a handling station (9), - a cone gripping unit (2), - and means for moving said gripping unit (2) between the handling station (9) and release points (15), characterised in that the moving means comprise: - a lifting unit (4) ensuring vertical movement for raising and lowering the gripping unit (2), - a translation unit (3) ensuring the transverse horizontal movement of said lifting unit (4) and said gripping unit (2), said translation unit (3) comprising at least one first slider (5) that comprises a fixed part rigidly connected to the frame (1) and a part that can move in translation, a second slider (6) that comprises a part rigidly connected to the movable part of the first slider (5) and a second part that can move in translation, that is in the form of a carriage (7), said lifting unit (4) comprising a vertical guide (8) rigidly connected to the carriage (7) and to said gripping unit (2).
