Abstract A tool for holding a level straightedge in building construction, comprising two straightedge holders, each holder comprising at least two horizontal flat plates, at least one upper plate and one lower plate, spaced vertically apart by a threaded bar, each plate has an aperture to accommodate the threaded bar and the at least one upper plate has threaded fasteners on each side to adjust the height thereof, whereby the height of the upper plate can adjusted via the threaded fasteners. -tt Vt II x
