Toilet bowl unit
A toilet bowl unit (1) comprises a toilet bowl (101) with an inner toilet bowl surface (102) having an upper peripheral portion (103), a central peripheral portion (104) and a lower sump portion (105). A peripheral slot (400) separates a lower edge (305) of the upper peripheral portion (103) from an upper edge (203) of the central peripheral portion (104). A peripheral water channel (210) is concealed inside the toilet bowl unit (1) and has a side wall (211) which is a weir over which water may flow into the peripheral slot (400). The slot (400) has a discharge opening (401) which is substantially horizontal at the rear and sides of the inner toilet bowl surface (102), for discharging a curtain of water, and includes at least one serpentine portion at the front of the inner toilet bowl surface (102), for discharging a jet of water. The horizontal portions of the discharge opening (401) are positioned just below a seat platform surface (302) in order to minimise the unwashed area at the top of the inner toilet bowl surface (102).
