Bar-pods for reinforced concrete formwork and scaffold
The present invention describes forming bar-chairs (BD) to configure a tri-pod (TP) or a quad-pod (QP). Each bar-chair (BD) is formed by bending a rebar into a substantially vertical inverted 'U' shape with two ends of the legs of the inverted 'U' being bent again inwardly to form base support arms that lie in a plan defined by the U. The bar-chairs are connected by at least one connecting means (CC) whilst the tri-pods (TP) or quad-pods (QP) are connected to each other by pod-links (PL). The connecting means and link bars (DL) may be disconnected so that the tripods (TP) and quad-pods (QP) are foldable when not in use and, in use, the connecting means and link bars are re-connectable. The bar-chairs (BD), tri-pods (TP) and quad-pods (QP) proposed as rebar supports are also configurable as supports for temporary structures such as falsework and scaffolds.
