A system to detect water disturbance caused by an incapable swimmer and alert a supervisor who can then attend to the swimmer having been alerted. The system detects water disturbance using movement sensors including accelerometers attached to pool skimmer boxes or floating objects as well as water level measurement sensors, which are reported to a supervisor's mobile computing device and alarm system. The alarm may be cancelled upon supervisor response.
