The \rOwd control barer post assembly 10 has a post member 12 which includes a ground supported base portion 14 or anchor at a lower end thereof, a he ad portion 16 or swivel head at an upper end. thereof nd a main body 18 intermediate the base portion 14 and the head portion 16. The post member 12 has a vertical axis 20 The post assemb 10 also includes a washer rio 22 which is located between the head potion ,6 and the main body 18, and allows the head portion 16 to swivc! abot 36 around the vertical axis 20 relative to the main body 18. A retractable safety belt cassette 24 of the post assembly 10 is operatively mounted to the head portion 16. The arrangement is such that, in use swivelling the head portion 16 enables a safety belt 26 t be extended from, and retraded to, the cassette 24 at any desired horizontalangle around the vertical axis 20, --- 40 1tt le 6 1 rt kr
