Clamp for sprinkler support assembly
A fire sprinkler support assembly (302) for supporting a flexible fire sprinkler fitting within a ceiling structure (106) having parallel spaced beams (202). The support assembly (302) comprising: a leg (304) configured to extend transverse to each of a pair of adjacent ones of the parallel spaced beams (202). The leg (304) including: a cross portion (305); and a levered clamp assembly (308) for connecting and supporting an end of the cross portion of the leg (304) to a corresponding one of the beams (202). The levered clamp assembly including: a first plate (404) extending from and generally perpendicular to the cross portion of the leg; a second plate (406) extending generally parallel to the first plate (404); the second plate (406) being rotatable relative to the first plate; the first plate and the second plate configured to be disposed on opposing sides of a corresponding one of the beams such that the plates straddle the beam; and a lever assembly (408). The lever assembly (408) including: a rod (410) passing through corresponding rod openings (412) in each of the first and second plates; and a lever (418) pivotally connected to one end of the rod. The lever (418) including a cam surface (420) disposed adjacent to the first plate (404). The lever assembly (408) is configured to reduce spacing between the plates (404), (406) upon actuation of the lever (418), whereby the leg (304) is secured to the beam. The second plate includes a tongue (430) configured to protrude through a tongue opening (422) in the first plate (404) with the second plate (406) rotatable relative to the first plate (404) on the tongue (430).

The lever assembly (408) including: a rod (410) passing through corresponding rod openings (412) in each of the first and second plates; and a lever (418) pivotally connected to one end of the rod.
