Safety caltrop enclosed in plastic shell for the purpose of stopping vehicles
Abstract A safety caltrop (spiked device) for the purpose of stopping vehicles by tyre deflation, with the following properties: * The spiked device is encased or secured within a 40mm diameter plastic shell rendering it harmless unless crushed by the wheel of a vehicle * The plastic shell is in the shape of a dodecahedron (12 sided polygon) so that it will not roll away, yet is easily deployed by throwing or use of an ejection device * The spiked device is 12 pointed having one point for every face of the plastic shell, made of metal, and hollow to facilitate rapid tyre deflation * Optionally a dye can be included in the shell indicating where the devices have been activated and the spikes exposed, for safety and clean-up purposes 40mm Blue dots indicate pike points just below the surface of outer shell
