Abstract The invention relates to a toilet flushing system comprising a toilet bowl, a water supply apparatus having at least one downward release aperture to release water downward into the toilet bowl to flush the toilet, and at least one transverse release aperture , to direct at least some of the water from the release aperture transversely around the toilet bowl.
