Floor slab support beam and supporting structure
Abstract A supporting structure for a building construction is disclosed. The supporting structure comprises: at least two upstanding columns each comprising a ledge projecting from a side face of the upstanding columns; at least one support beam extending along a first axis, the support beam comprising at least two spaced walls and a base which define at least one channel along the first axis, wherein: at least one of the base and the two walls comprise an engineered timber material; the walls extend along the first axis and comprise a top section extending along the first axis and a bottom section that also extends along the first axis opposite the top section, the base is attached to the walls at the bottom sections; and at least two spaced portions of the base are each placed on and supported by the ledge of the upstanding columns; and at least one connector attached to and projected up from the top section of each of the walls of the support beam, wherein the at least one connector is adapted to attach the support beam to a cement based layer poured and cured over the support beam. A method of constructing a supporting structure for a building construction is also disclosed along with a band beam to support a floor. 102a 102b Figure 1 w Figure 2A Figure 2B
