A balustrade fence 1Ob is assembled on site between newel posts 20. The balustrade fence 10b includes a bottom rail 34 and a top rail 36 which are supported by angle brackets 92. The bottom rail 34 and the top rail 36 each have a channel 39 extending along a longitudinal lower face thereof such that the channels 39 both face downwardly when installed. Spaced holes 35 are drilled in the bottom rail 34, and the top rail 36 comprises spaced saddle 94 and threaded eyelet 96 sets, both spaced at 80 mm. The threaded eyelet 96 receives the upper end of a threaded first rod 42. A compression second rod 44 is inserted into the channel of the top rail 36 and into an aperture of the bottom rail 34. A nut and washer set 48 in the end sections of the second rod 44 are used to engage facing surfaces of the top and bottom rails to place the second rod 44 in compression and support the top and bottom rails. A lower end of first rods 42 is inserted into an aperture 35 of the bottom rail. The upper end of each first rod 42 is threaded to its corresponding threaded eyelet 96. Locking of the lower end of the first rod 42 is with a lock nut 98 to the channel of the bottom rail. 12 32 41 5036 444)03 4 20 1 50 42 32 12(4 T3 8 37 '60 22 36 39 39 .36 34 22 39 - 3 24 26 24 \4 26 (a) 26
