The damping device (16) comprises: a base (18) comprising a through-orifice (24) for receiving said cable (8), said through-orifice extending along at least a longitudinal axis (X), and at least one cylinder (22) connected to said base (18) and inclined with respect to said longitudinal axis (X) at an angle (αi) other than 90°, and, for said cylinder (22), a complementary cylinder connected to said base and inclined with respect to said longitudinal axis (X) at an angle (α'i) other than 90°, the cylinder and the complementary cylinder being arranged on either side of a plane (P) orthogonal to the longitudinal axis (X), the orthogonal plane containing a centre (C) of the base (18), said centre (C) being situated along the longitudinal axis (X).
