A manufacturing process for making a reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete panel includes a handling step and 5 handling device for locating the reinforcement in the correct location within the mould for forming the panel. The handling device includes a holder having a body movable with respect to a base and a connector for interconnecting the body to the base to facilitate such 10 movement. The device further includes a reinforcement receiver fixedly connected to the body in which the receiver has multiple retainers to extend outwardly in opposed spaced apart relationship to receive the reinforcement therein. The receiver undergoes a range of 15 movements during the handling steps in the manufacturing process for receiving, positioning and transporting the reinforcement.
