PROTECTION OF STEEL REINFORCED CONCRETE ELEMENTS
A sacrificial anode reinforced concrete protection assembly for protecting steel in a reinforced concrete element, the reinforced concrete of the element containing an electrolyte, the assembly including at least one primary anode that is a sacrificial anode, at least one secondary anode that is a sacrificial anode and that is connected to a positive terminal of a cell providing at least one source of direct current, 'DC' power, with the secondary anode integrated with the cell as a single unit, the at least one primary anode and the at least one secondary anode arranged to have an ionic connection with the steel in the reinforced concrete element via the electrolyte, the at least one primary anode connected to the steel in the reinforced concrete element by an electron conductor, the negative terminal of the cell connected to the steel in the reinforced concrete element using an electron conductor, the at least one secondary anode having a first charge capacity and the cell having a second charge capacity, and the first charge capacity greater than the second charge capacity.
