Abstract: In one aspect the invention provides a remotely actuated guard rail clamp 5 which includes a main body configured for attachment to a lifting member. A clamp jaw is pivotally connected to this main body, with the clamp jaw being arranged to pivot between an open configuration and a closed configuration. Also provided is a bias structure associated with the clamp jaw which applies a force directed to urge the jaw towards the closed configuration, as well as o an actuation structure associated with the jaw and being remotely operable to apply a force directed to urge the jaw towards the open configuration. o~. -9 I-.
