A structural joint bridging device (10) having a joint-sealing profile (1) and a joint seal (1) as such, and also a method for producing a joint seal (1) and a method for producing and removing a structural joint bridging device (10). The joint seal (1) consists at least partially of an elastic material and is fastened by a retaining region (2, 3) in the structural joint bridging device (10), wherein the retaining region (2, 3) has, at least in certain portions, a material composition (4) which can be activated in a targeted manner by a chemical, thermal and/or physical action in such a way that the volume of the retaining region (2, 3) changes.
