    Abstract The invention relates to a fixture and a method for cleaning a drinking water purification sys 5 tem (2), comprising at least the following steps: a. Removal of a filter cartridge (9) from a cartridge holder (10) of a filtering unit (8) in a cold water line (4), b. Insertion of a connection adapter (14) into the cartridge holder (10) to form a fluid connec tion with the cold water line (4), 0 0 c. Connection of a connecting piece (6) of a hot water line (5) to the connection adapter (14), d. Heating of water with a heating means (7) interconnected with the hot water line (5), e.
