- 18 The creation of formwork for cast-in-situ concrete floors on modem commercial buildings can be a complex and expensive process. The present invention provides a slender support strut for concrete formwork and concrete moulding systems that can be situated 5 within and become a part of a cast-in-situ concrete floor. The support strut has a base member, a column member and a top member, the column member having a structural connection to both the base member and the top member. The base member is configured for attachment to a floor of a formwork structure for forming a concrete structural element and the top member is configured to engage with a mould for producing a prescribed 10 profile within the concrete structural element. The column member is shaped and configured to resist compression and side loads. The support strut can also include a diagonal brace for improved resistance to side loads. 129 Figure9 124 Figure 9
