The application relates to a civil engineering apparatus (1) having an undercarriage (10) with crawler running gear, having a superstructure (11) which is arranged on the undercarriage (10), and having a mast (14) which is mounted in a vertically directed manner on the superstructure (11), wherein at least one camera (30), by means of which an image of the civil engineering apparatus (1) and its surroundings can be captured, is arranged at an upper region of the mast (14).
