- 24 Disclosed is a system for use in forming stairs that comprise a stringer and steps each of which is mounted to the stringer and includes a tread, the system comprising an elongate 5 support and step modules which are securable to the support such that the stringer is comprised of said support and each step is comprised of a respective one of the modules, wherein the step modules can be secured to the support at positions therealong which are variable according to a required spacing of the steps. Also disclosed is a method of installing stairs between upper and lower levels using the system.
