This invention relates to a method of installing a kerb inlet lintel (12) above a stormwater pit (16), between two kerbstones (14). The method includes providing a support apparatus (10) having spaced apart posts (52) and a gantry (54) supported by the posts. The gantry has a first part which is stationary relative to the posts and a part which is movable relative to the first part. Attachment components (62, 80) are fixed to the movable gantry part, and connectors (90) are connectable to the attachment components and to lifting anchors of the lintel. The method includes supporting the lintel on the support apparatus by connecting the connectors to the lifting anchors for the lintel to be supported when connectors are connected to the attachment components. The method incudes adjusting the position of the lintel by moving the movable gantry part relative to the first gantry part and/or raising and/or lowering the lintel by raising and/or lowering the connectors.
