A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
A flooring (10) for use upon a supporting surface (12, 14) has a plurality of floor planks (16), each of which have a semi-cylindrical projection (42) at a first side surface (34) of a first plank (16a) for mateably engaging with the semi-cylindrical groove (48) of a second side surface (36) of an adjacent second plank (16b). There is a lower gap (50) between adjacent lower portions (40, 46) of the first and second planks (16a, 16b). The first and second planks, when so mateably engaged, can be lifted from the supporting surface, without disrupting other adjacent planks of the flooring, by the application of upward force to cause the first and second planks to lift whilst remaining mateably interengaged and to separate from their respective engagement with the other adjacent planks of the flooring.
