A LIGHTWEIGHT DEMOUNTABLE SUPPORT STRUCTURE FOR A CANTILEVERED AWNING OR ROOF.
Abstract A lightweight, demountable support structure for a cantilevered awning or roof, the structure comprising: at least a ground engaging post or wall mount and a beam to support the awning or roof ; the beam in connection with and deployed to cantilever from the ground engaging post or wall mount; a gusset member hinged to either the ground engaging post or the wall mount or the beam proximate to the connection between the beam and the ground engaging post or wall mount; wherein, the gusset member is pivoted about the hinge and located between the ground engaging post or the wall mount and the beam to comprise a stay which supports and secures the beam in a cantilevered position with respect to the ground engaging post or the wall mount. A telescopic extension slidably inserted into the ground engaging post or the wall mount to facilitate easier height adjustment and wherein the resulting double wall arrangement increases column load bearing strength.
