Abstract A ripper assembly comprises a chassis that is configured to be towed by a vehicle in a forward direction over a ground surface, and a plurality of tines attached to the chassis. Each of the tines comprises a shank extending diagonally downwards in the forward direction relative to the chassis and a blade disposed towards a lower end of the shank for digging into the ground surface. A fender arrangement is provided on the shank towards an upper end of the blade.
