Abstract A scaffolding unit installation including a scaffolding unit 25 for attachment to an outside surface 30 of a building under construction. The building including an elongate C-shaped channel 46 that extends along a peripheral 5 edge of the building and that is open upwardly. The side walls 48,49 of the channel 46 comprising inboard and outboard side walls 48,49 and the channel 46 including a channel insert 54. The scaffolding unit 25 including a first support member 27 extending substantially horizontally away from the building wall for supporting a scaffolding walkway, a second support 10 member 29 connected to the first support member 27 and extending downwardly from the first support member 27 and bearing against the outside surface of the building, and a bracing member 31 connected at an angle between the first and second support members 27,29. An attachment arrangement extends from the scaffolding unit 25 over the channel 46 and 15 has an attachment member 42 including an end portion 43 engaging an external face of the inboard side wall 48 of the channel 46 and an attachment portion 44 connected to the insert 54 by at least one connector 60 that extends through the attachment portion 44, the channel insert 54 and preferably through the channel base 47. 20 Fig. 3
